We’re dedicated to advancement in the Project Management skills of individuals and organizations working in the development sector throughout the world. Our aim is to reach not just donor organizations and NGOs, but individuals on the ground who are making the difference, often against the odds and with minimal resources.

The Training Partners Program

PM4NGOs is the owner and custodian of the Project DPro (PMD Pro),Program DPro, and FMD Pro guides and certification. As an independent certifying organization, PM4NGOs does not offer training courses, but relies upon multiple training partners globally to expand access to project management approaches and practices.

Training partners are independent organizations that are responsible for the training courses and services they offer. Although PM4NGOs does not accredit training organizations or trainers, we work closely with them in an open manner to produce and share high quality and most updated training materials.

The process to become a PM4NGOs Training Partner includes providing a set of evidence documents and an interview with an external and independent assessor, who is responsible to provide a recommendation to the PM4NGOs Partners committee.

Consultancy Description

The External Assessor will collect the list of evidence documents and conduct an online interview with candidates (individuals or organizations) to become a PM4NGOs Training Partner.

Based on the documents analysis and the interview, the External Assessor will provide a formal recommendation to approve or reject the candidates submission to become a Training Partner.

PM4NGOs will provide the External Assessor with detailed guidance for their assessment including the requirements, check-list, and knowledge / experience requirements to be observed and analyzed through the document review and the interview with candidates.

Responsibilities

Description of tasks

The External Assessor will coordinate his/her activities with the Executive Director, which includes:

  • Collect the required documentation from candidates or current training partners engaged in the application or renewal process.
  • Analyze the documents following the provided check-list.
  • Set up an online interview with the candidate.
  • Conduct a 1-hour online interview with the candidate, following the provided guidance.
  • Prepare and submit the checklist and a report with a formal recommendation within 48 hours after the interview.

The assessment process is estimated to a total of 3 hours: 1-hour preparation and documentation review, 1-hour interview, and 1-hour final analysis and report.

Deliverables

The External Assessor will provide an analysis report that includes a formal recommendation, the filled check-list, and all evidence collected from the candidates. All forms, templates, and guidance will be provided by PM4NGOs.

Desired Qualifications

The External Assessor will collect the list of evidence documents and conduct an online interview with candidates (individuals or organizations) to become a PM4NGOs Training Partner.

  • Education and/or Experience
      • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, minimum of three years in development and/or humanitarian sector; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Dynamic professional with a demonstrated ability to achieve the expected results.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented.
  • Adequate knowledge in online systems, more specifically project, workgroup, communications, and online call platforms (Zoom, Skype, Teams).
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Fluent in one of the languages that assessment and interviews will be conducted: Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, and/or Spanish.

Mandatory requirements

The following are mandatory requirements to provide the service as External Assessor to the Training Partners Program:

  • The consultant must hold one of the following certifications: Project DPro Foundation, Project DPro Practitioner, or Program DPro.
  • The consultant must not be a:
      • Staff, associated, or a consultant of a PM4NGOs Training Partner or Authorized Invigilator, regardless if the relationship is formal, informal, part time, full time, on demand, or any other.
      • PM4NGOs Hub.
      • PM4NGOs Board Member.
  • PM4NGOs consultants in other programs are eligible as long as they are not in a director position.

Confidentiality, Data Protection, and Ethical Provisions

Taking into consideration that the consultant will collect and analyze sensitive data from candidates and current Training Partners, the External Assessor will be required to:

  • Sign a non-disclosure agreement provided by PM4NGOs.
  • Comply and sign the PM4NGOs Ethical Policy.
