In an industry that relies upon projects to complete its work, a certification helps ensure that project managers are ready to effectively manage their projects around the world. PM4NGOs, the publisher of the Project Management for Development Professionals Guide (PMD Pro Guide), offers a two-level certification program for project practitioners working in the development sector.

Note: If you are a trainer and seeks for assistance to apply the certification to your course participants, please read this page about the exam system.

Level 1 Certification – Foundation

The examination is available on-line via the APMG International web-based certification engine. The level 1 certification requires the project practitioner to successfully complete the PMD Pro1 certification examination.

This examination is taken on-line and requires candidates to demonstrate that they know and understanding content of the Project Management for Development Professionals Guide (PMD Pro Guide). The exams are multiple choice with 75 questions. The pass mark is 65% – or 49 correct questions. There is no ‘negative’ marking so an incorrect answer does not lose you marks.

The learning objectives for the PMD Pro 1 examination are found in the Appendix of the PMD Pro Guide.

2. To provide a platform from which development practitioners can begin to pursue an internationally-accredited professional qualification in project management.

The PMD Pro2 examination is taken on-line and requires candidates to demonstrate their ability to apply and analyze the contents of the Project Management for Development Professionals Guide (PMD Pro Guide). The exams are multiple choice with 75 questions. The pass mark is 65% – or 49 correct questions. There is no ‘negative’ marking so an incorrect answer does not lose you marks.

Each of the questions in the PMD Pro2 examination is based on development project scenarios and is designed to test the PMD Pro2 learning objectives found in the Appendix of the PMD Pro Guide.
