The Importance of Learning Retention Programs

The Importance of Learning Retention Programs

Training
This article was originally published on Humentum by Education Technology Insights. According to the 2017 State of the Industry report from the Association for Talent Development, in 2016 the average employer spent $1273 per person per year on professional development, representing more than 100 billion dollars. A 2010 McKinsey study estimated that only 25 percent of spending on training led to measured results.  This means roughly the GDP of Delaware worth of training each year leads to no measurable results. This is simply not acceptable. As learning and development professionals, we have a responsibility to support not just learning but learning transfer and improved results in the workplace. So, it’s important to ask a few questions: Are our traditional training approaches supporting learning transfer and business results? How do we…

Training is not the “Magic” Formula but the Line Manager Is

Case Studies, Development Sector, Training
This article was originally published on the website of the CHS Alliance by Faye Ekong. What makes training stick: The trainee, the training and the workplace environment. Commitment 8 of the CHS emphasizes the importance of supporting staff to implement their work effectively. Organisations generally agree that competent, well managed, motivated and engaged staff are crucial in ensuring the communities and populations we serve receive the assistance they need. However, the question arises on how to ensure that staff are able to develop necessary competencies and more importantly succeed in applying and transferring them to their daily work. Frequently, the default reaction by many organisations, HR practitioners and managers is to view training as the solution to address performance and competency issues within their teams. At the same time, our workforce…

PMD Pro Exams Migration to the new APMG system

PMD Pro Exams Migration to the new APMG system

Project DPro, Project DPro Certification
PMD Pro new exam system has been live since February and, because of exams purchased and booked prior to the new system launch, APMG has kept the old system also live. The old system will be closing at the end of July. NGOs and candidates would need to book further exams through the new system. If you or your organization has remaining exams bookings in the old system, do not worry: APMG will automatically transfer remaining exams to the new system. Next week APMG will contact all account owners who have remaining exams. Please look at the new exam system guides: http://www.pm4ngos.com/pmd-pro-exam-guides/ If you need any assistance with the system migration, do not hesitate to contact APMG (servicedesk@apmg-international.com) or our team (info@pm4ngos.org).
