
John Cropper
John Cropper has worked in the NGO sector for over 20 years. He worked for the British Council in Spain and Vietnam and he worked for Oxfam GB for 10 years. During this time, he was the Regional Programme Manager for Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean and later the Head of Programme and Project Management systems. His final job with Oxfam GB was managing ‘Raising Her Voice’, a global programme on gender and governance.
At the beginning of 2011, John joined LINGOs as the Director of Project Services for LINGOs. LINGOs is a US registered NGO that has over 80 member organisations – all of which are international NGOs. LINGOs focuses on developing the skills and capacities of people working in International development. John manages all LINGOs’ project management capacity building initiatives and, above all, works with NGOs to understand the centrality of effective program and project management. John was part of the working group which created PMD Pro and he has been involved with PMD Pro since its inception. He was one of the authors of the Guide and has been involved in all of the updates and translations.
John is the Chair of the Dalit Solidarity Network. He is a member of the Project Management Institute and the Association for Project Management. He is Prince 2 qualified and holds Masters Degrees in Education and Multimedia Communication as well as an MBA. John has lived and worked in China, Vietnam, Spain and Mexico and is speaks in English, Spanish and French.
