Caritas Nigeria being the specialized national development agency of the Catholic Church in Nigeria has a mandate to coordinate development programs in several thematic areas to all Nigerians irrespective of religion or ethnicity.
Caritas Nigeria recognizes the importance of capacity building in sustainable development and has been working with Catholic Relief Services through the Institutional Capacity Strengthening Project to improve the capacity of its local partners.
The PMD Pro training is delivered in collaboration with Catholic Relief Services and Learning in NGOs (LINGOs), a consortium of over 80 international development organizations.
Caritas Nigeria works through diocesan Justice and Peace, Health, Education and Family and Human Life Commissions and is therefore present in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory through the 56 Catholic ecclesiastical jurisdictions.
On the global platform, Caritas is a confederation of 165 member countries with its headquarters in Rome as Caritas Internationalis, of which Caritas Nigeria is a member.
Caritas Nigeria also partners relevant Civil Society Organizations, Community Based Organizations, Faith Based Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations and Government agencies to implement programs in various states that reach the underserved populations in hard-to-reach communities.
